New JIVA Builds Available For Download, Linux Client Update
The latest client and server builds have been posted on our downloads page and we have also updated the kernel build image on our public server: if you’ve already installed the JIVA client on your machine it will get the update automatically.
Nathan has modified the Windows screen saver to use the same configuration libraries as our UNIX clients. This means that we now have a unified approach to customizing large client installations.
Essentially there are three steps: deploy the installer and a small script to each client machine, run the installer, then run the script. The script will run one of our command line applications and will allow you to change the default IP addresses for the JIVA and JMSL servers. It will also allow you to authorize your own keystore so that you can run your own custom signed applications on the JIVA client (run time security checks will still be exercised, of course).
In other news, the RPM for the Linux Daemon has been updated and looks good so far. The Linux client is extremely fast! We’ll continue to test it out on a few different Linux distributions while we update the Linux screen saver RPM.
