Pulse Dialup Networking Service, now for Windows users, too.

The Pulse dialup networking service now works with Windows based computers as well as computers running Apple OS X. As of this posting, Microsoft Windows is now officially a supported platform for the Pulse system.

  1. Is this available yet? Can i Beta?

  2. Not yet. The plan is to issue a beta release by this Thursday.

  3. I have an 8700g running 4.1 firmware on T-Mobile in the UK. I am NOT using a BES or MDS service. It is currently working correctly for GPRS data using both the Blackberry and general T-Mobile APNs.

My application is to be able to use my Blackberry, over Bluetooth, to TomTom One V2 GPS device for getting their on-line services (e.g. live traffic). I have some questions before I start playing with your trial when it appears, if that’s ok?

    1. I presume it should work for this application if what the TomTom will see is simply a DUN profile like with any other phone?

    2. How does your product affect other Bluetooth operations, such as the use of a Bluetooth headset? Can a headset remain connected at the same time as a DUN device?

    3. Related to the above, when happens when a call comes in whilst your product is in use? I presume GPRS traffic is suspended (?) but will a Bluetooth headset be allowed to connect? What happens if I want to originate a call? I.E. what is the user experience?

Thanks in advance for your comments/observations.

    John
