Dear Guys
Hope this isn’t a stupid question - will the Pulse solution allow me to utilise the UMTS connectivity available in the 8707? From what I’ve read I understand that Pulse is a dialup (GSM call) solution not a GPRS solution, and therefore ‘mobile broadband’ UMTS is not in the picture. I’m about to purchase a Blackberry and I’ll choose the 8700 if I get no mac-surfing benefit from the 8707… p.s. I’ll be purchasing in the UK. Thanks and keep up the great work
Hello,
Alex King suggested I contact you on this issue.
I just have one concern. I read that the only connection protocol you are supporting is Bluetooth™. The EV-DO networks that the 87xx works with have an average bandwidth of 400-700kbs and some users on Verizons™ network have reported sustained speeds of almost 1mbps. Bluetooth™ has a maximum data rate of 110kbs and seems like it could be a bottleneck.
When I use my current Edge data provider I always get faster speeds when using USB on my Macbook™ -vs- using Bluetooth™. Will USB, be an option or is this not a concern as you have already solved this bandwidth limitation somehow?
