The OS X proxy is packaged and just about ready to go: beta testers can except download notifications tomorrow. We’ll probably keep the proxy in beta for at least the next week while we continue to update documentation, make bug fixes, and put together troubleshooting documentation.

Things are going great!
Proxy server update:
Garrett Kelly and I are working on the OS X version of the proxy server: primarily routing issues and a nice, shrink-wrapped installer. The gateway service looks like it’s running smoothly.

I have personally verified that Pulse is capable of reliably reaching speeds between 160 and 200 kps on a stock T-Mobile 8700g.
More to come. Thank you, Guy.

If you are experiencing continued failure to get Pulse working on your 8700g you may want to consider updating your Blackberry OS to V4.1.0.346. This has proven useful in at least a few instances.

We need some volunteers to help us test out the OS X Proxy. Interested parties should send email to proxybeta AT nospam.brainmurmurs.com. Please put PULSE PROXY BETA in the subject line.
As usual, please replace the word AT with @ and remove the ‘nospam.’ from the email address.

Three different Pulse Customers have independently reported download speeds in excess of 126 KPS using 8700g’s on T-Mobile’s EDGE network. These reports were obtained using various reputable internet bandwidth measuring sites.
Neither Garret Kelly (8700g/T-Mobile EDGE), Garret Cole (8703e/Verizon EVD0), or myself (8700g/T-Mobile EDGE) have come anywhere close to this, nor has Alex King.
I am […]

Pulse makes a very nice VPN client, which I knew, but haven’t previously mentioned or seriously tried working with yet.
I was doing some work at home today, and my heart sank when I realized I was going to have to transfer several files to our corporate gateway and then scp them to one of our […]
