Country Energy is a leading Australian energy services corporation owned by the New South Wales Government, with around 3,700 employees serving more than 870,000 customers. Country Energy manages Australia's largest power supply network across 95 per cent of New South Wales' land mass and offers retail electricity in five states and territories.
This project demonstrated our ability to do work on an extremely aggressive time table: we were code complete within two weeks of learning of the project.

In this project we modified the Twisted Pair Dispatch Communicator to interoperate with a specially devised SelCall gateway used to bridge communications with remote SelCall users (see below).
The desire was to modify the Dispatch Communicator so that it could provide an integrated interface for h.323 and SelCall communication. The new design included a call history UI that would show all incoming calls of both types. Special audio and graphical queues were used to distinguish between regular and emergency calls. The history UI could be used to answer or call back previous callers.

A special address book and dialer were added to the Dispatch Communicator that provided integrated h.323 and SelCall dialing in addition to the unified call history log.

Brain Murmurs' Role
  • 1. Reviewed the statement of work written by Twisted Pair Solutions for Country Energy
  • 2. Worked with the SelCall gateway developer to define a network protocol for communication between the gateway and our modified Dispatch Communicator.
  • 3. Implemented a user interface and code to track incoming and outgoing SelCall calls
  • 4. Analyzed the existing Dispatch Communicator h.323 dialer code and added h.323 outbound call support to the SelCall dialer and call log
  • 5. Analyzed the existing Dispatch Communicator incoming h.323 call handler code. Added h.323 inbound call logging to the SelCall call log
  • 6. Added a custom address book, populated by data retrieved from the customized Wave Management Server
  • 7. Added a custom SelCall dialer interface to the Dispatch Communicator
  • 8. Met with Country Energy representatives at Twisted Pair to collect user testing feedback.
  • 9. Worked with Twisted Pair to finalize and validate the corrected build
The SelCall Gateway was developed by TPS and integration of our modified Dispatch Communicator with the SelCall Gateway was performed onsite at their offices.
